Subjects of protection

A variety of plants means a group of plants that, regardless of patentability, shall be determined by signs, characterizing such genotype or a combination of genotypes, and differ from other groups of plants of the same botanic taxon by at least one sign.

The range of protected varieties of plants includes only those botanic and zoological kinds and types that are included into the list of varieties of plants approved by the Government of the Republic of Belarus.
