Procedure for registration

Examination of an application for an invention shall include preliminary and patent examination.

Preliminary examination of an application for an invention shall be held within a three months’ period from the date of its receipt by the National Center of Intellectual Property.

Data on the application for the invention that has passed preliminary examination, upon the results of which a favourable decision has been made, shall be published in the official bulletin upon expiry of eighteen months from the date of such application or, if the priority claimed, from the date of the earliest priority.

Temporary legal protection in the scope of the published invention formula will be granted to the invention applied for from the date of publication of data on the application for the invention until the date of publication of data on the patent.

Patent examination of an application for an invention shall be held upon a petition of an applicant (applicants) or any interested person.

The petition for holding patent examination shall be filed at filing an application for an invention or within three years from the date of filing an application for an invention.

Based on the decision on granting the patent and on condition of the patent fee payment, the National Center of Intellectual Property will perform registration of the invention in the State Register of Inventions.

The data on the patent for the invention will be published in the official bulletin within three months upon registration of the invention in the State Register of Inventions.

The grant of the patent to the patent proprietor shall be performed within five days from the date of publication of the data on the patent for the invention.
